Objectives and Scope of the Assignment

The primary objective of this assignment is to facilitate monitoring and independent verification of the project development milestones. Thus, this assignment is expected to: 1)Support the verification process for minigrid project development milestone claims prior to disbursement of grants to developers 2)Support the verification process for deployment of energy efficient productive use equipment 3)Utilise the remote-monitoring platform for a robust verification process 4)Present the findings (including quality test and photo evidence of minigrid components, customers and their PUE equipment) and recommendations of the verification exercise to the PMU after concluding the field verification exercise

Consultant Competencies

The required qualifications and experience of the consultant are as follows: ·An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Project Management, or a related field ·At least 10 years of relevant work experience in verification of renewable energy and rural electrification project outcomes. ·Experience in working with the UN, and UNDP in particular, international organizations, and similar agencies would be an advantage ·Clear understanding of - and skills for technical verification exercises, field/on-site studies, and project assessments ·Previous experience in conducting similar assignments.
